June M. Chartier, 85, of Taunton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at the Morton Hospital in Taunton. She was the cherished wife of 67 years to Leo Chartier whom she met roller skating with friends in 1953.
Born in Brockton on June 2, 1939, she was the loving daughter of the late Joseph D. Charest and Lillian E. (Micheau) Charest.
June grew up in Brockton and was a graduate from Brockton High School, class of 1957. June married her sweetheart Leo in 1957 and they moved to Mansfield, MA to start their family. She remained in Mansfield for ten years before her family settled in Attleboro.
June worked for Texas Instruments for twenty-three years and went on to work with Emory Medical Associates of Attleboro until her retirement.
June loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She would always look forward to babysitting and sleepovers with them. She was an avid reader and loved to dance especially to Country music. She also enjoyed going to the beach and sitting with Leo by the water.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Brenda Smith and her husband Peter of Holland, VT, Cheryl Rivello and her husband Dennis of Attleboro, MA, Deanna Chartier and her partner Danny Guillette of East Providence, RI, Mark Chartier and his wife Christine of Attleboro, MA, Glenn Chartier and his wife Connie of South Daytona, FL and Brian Chartier and his partner Michelle of Milton, MA. She was the cherished and proud grandmother of fourteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a service in celebration of her life on Saturday, July 20th from 1:00-5:00 P.M. at Leisurewoods, 50 Highland Street in Taunton.
