It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom, Elaine Roy of Medford, MA who left us peacefully at the age of 90 on June 2nd, 2024. She was the cherished wife of John Roy who predeceased her in 2010. Elaine was a resident of Medford for more than 30 years, previously having raised her family in Somerville, MA.
Elaine was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Marashio) Francoise. She was the devoted mother of Cheryl Zaccardi and her husband, Robert of Dracut, Kelly Roy Knowlton of Methuen, and John Rapoza and his wife Elaine of Cambridge. Elaine’s four grand-daughters were her greatest pride and joy: Ami Dufresne and her husband Brad of Nashua, NH, Gina Rivera and her husband Carlos of Dracut, MA, Cherylann Knowlton and her fiancé Jacob Golden of Methuen, MA and Kaley Knowlton of Methuen, MA. She was the dear sister-in-law of David and Helen Roy of Billerica MA, and the sister of the late Manuel Francoise, Loretta Livingston, Florence Graham, and John Francoise, as well as Mary Ann Lamb of Fresno, CA. Elaine also leaves behind her very dear friend Chris Capri of Medford, MA with whom she shared a friendship for more than 60 years.
Elaine’s favorite times were spent with her family. She enjoyed having everyone together for a celebration of any kind. Her love of cooking was shared with us all and we will always giggle, remembering her step-by-step instructions on how to make a recipe. She also loved to spend time at her friend, Chris Capri’s Beauty Salon in Medford, not only having her hair done, but most importantly spending the afternoon there socializing with friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Friday, June 7th from 11 am to 1 pm, followed by a service held in the funeral home and interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
