Howard. Stepfather of Deborah Sylvia, Glenn Hammond, Dale Hammond and Gordon Hammond all of Brockton, Rhonda Briscoe of Hanson and the late Douglas W. Hammond. Brother of Mary Miller of Minnesota and uncle of Richard Cloudman of Brockton. Also survived by many grandchildren.
Funeral Service in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday at 11 am. Burial at a later date at Central Cemetery, E. Bridgewater. Visiting hours Friday 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Lawrence R Howard Retired Firefighter,Formerly of Brockton
Lawrence R Howard 77, of Candor, NY died Sunday at the Tioga Nursing Facility in Waverly, NY. Born in Somerville, MA, he was the son of the late Harold T. Howard and Margaret (Morrison) Howard. Mr. Howard was raised and educated in E. Bridgewater. He was a Brockton resident since1950 before moving to New York in 2002. During WW II he served in the Air Force. He became a Firefighter for the city of Brockton in 1953 and retired in 1988. He was a member of the Polish White Eagles. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Survived by his wife Joan C. (Orbeton) Howard, a son Dennis M. Howard of E. Brookfield, his stepchildren, Deborah Sylvia, Glenn Hammond, Dale Hammond and Gordon Hammond all of Brockton, Rhonda Briscoe of Hanson and many grandchildren, a sister Mary Miller of Minnesota and a nephew Richard Cloudman of Brockton.
He also was the father of the late Barry P. Howard and stepfather to the late Douglas W. Hammond.
