Juanita DuBose Hobby, 78, of Tifton passed away Friday, July 12, 2002, at Beverly Health Care in Tifton. Her funeral service was held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 14, 2002, at Tifton's First Assembly of God with the Rev. Eddie Hutcheson and the Rev. Donald Jolley officiating. Mrs. Hobby was laid to rest at Zion Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Tifton.
Mrs. Hobby's nephews served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were past and present deacon board members and their wives of Tifton's First Assembly of God.
Born April 7, 1924, in Tift County, Mrs. Hobby was the daughter of the late Charles DuBose and Laura Cooksey DuBose. She was also preceded in death by one brother. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of Tifton's First Assembly of God, where she was involved in the Women's Ministry. She had lived in Tift County her entire life.
Mrs. Hobby is survived by her husband, Orris L. Hobby of Tifton; three loving sons and special daughters-in-law, Bobby L. and Rhonda Hobby and Ricky M. and Donna Hobby, all of Tifton and Randall E. and Susan Hobby of Foot Hills Ranch, California; three brothers, Merrill DuBose of Wimauma, Florida and Elton Dubose and William DuBose, both of Memphis, Tennessee; one sister, Barbara DuBose Hutcheson of Lithia, Florida; four grandchildren, Dina Hobby Branch, Matthew Hobby, Joye Hobby and Petrina Ferguson; and seven great-grandchildren.
