Kathryn Lavert Richards Partin Greer, 69, of Tifton passed away Sunday, March 17, 2002, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at Macedonia Baptist Church in Chula with the Rev. Randall Gay and the Rev. Jimmy Franks officiating. Mrs. Greer was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Roy Akins Jr., Steve Partin, Mike Franks, Billy Maye, Ronald Richards and Wayne Richards served as pallbearers.
Born July 19, 1932, in Tift County, Mrs. Greer was the daughter of the late William Hamilton Richards and Mary Alice Yancey Richards. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Partin; and her second husband, Sidney Greer. Before retiring, she was a secretary in the medical field; and she was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Chula.
Mrs. Greer is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Charlene and Dee Tucker of Tifton and Kathy and Karl Chiang of Greenville, North Carolina; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Peggy Greer and Sidney and Mary Nell Greer, all of Tifton; one brother, the Rev. Floyd Richards of Tifton; two sisters, Bernice Franks of Jacksonville, Florida and Ethel Franks of Sylvester; and nine grandchildren, Andy Hudgins, Katie Hudgins, Michael Hudgins, Heather Harper, Heath Greer, Katelyn Chiang, Austin Chiang, Hunter Greer and Zack Greer.
