Morgan Joseph Greene, 87, of Tifton passed away Friday, September 27, 2002, at Affinity Health Group in Tifton. His funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2002, in the Sanctuary of Tifton's First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Wayne Roe, the Rev. Dr. W. Ches Smith III and the Rev. Eddie Allen officiating. Mr. Greene was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Mr. Greene's nephews, Floyd Moon, Morgan Moon, Buddy Harrison, Gary Harrison, Terry Walls, Jimmy Allen, Hansel Allen, Ricky Powell, Kenny Allen and Garlan Moon served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Tifton Lion's Club, members of the Joyful Sound Choir and members of the Men's Bible Sunday School Class of Tifton's First Baptist Church.'
Born April 27, 1915, in Montezuma, Mr. Greene was the son of the late Willie Joseph Greene and Mary Bell McGill Greene. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Orene Allen Greene; one brother; and one sister. Before retiring, he was a credit officer for H.V. Kell Company, the Production Credit Association and Rodenberry Hardware in Tifton; and he was a member of Tifton's First Baptist Church.
Mr. Greene is survive3d by one daughter and son-in-law, Ginger and William Wheeler of Tifton; one brother, Marshall Greene of Warner Robins; two grandchildren and their spouses, Tom and Tammy Wheeler and jenny and Anthony Loprest; and two great-grandchildren, Anthony and Christopher.
