Oree German, 73, of Ty Ty passed away Sunday, February 3, 2002, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2002, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Terrell Roberts officiating. Mr. German was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Leo Walker, Jim Slusmeyer, John Gurley, Dick Hart, Gordon Burgess and Donnie Hightower served as pallbearers.
Born August 22, 1928, in Newton, Alabama, Mr. German was the son of the late Carlton Monroe German and Lola Mae Sullivan German Parkerson. He was also preceded in death by three brothers. Before retiring, he was a self-employed truck driver; and he was a member of Tift Avenue Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. German is survived by his wife, Nadine Watson German of Ty Ty; two daughters and one son-in-law, Debra E. and Ronnie Robertson of Tifton and Ruthie Adams of Key West, Florida; one sister, Eunola Herstetter of Montgomery, Alabama; and three grandchildren, Amanda Suggs and her husband Scott, Rose Robertson and Jessica Robertson.
