Marcel Henri Pinard, 97, died May 24, 2024 at Courville at Manchester following a brief illness.
He was born in Manchester on April 26,1927, the son of Napoleon and Rosa (Bourque) Pinard.
Prior to his retirement he was a heavy equipment tech operator for IMPCO, now Ingersoll-Rand. He was also very proud of the work he did across Manchester for Roycraft Homes.
Marcel was a lifetime member of the Massabesic Yacht Club. He was Harbormaster from 1984 to 1994, and was awarded the Outstanding Member Award in 1992 and 2001. He also belonged to the Amoskeag Model Railroad Club and was an active square dance club member for years, dancing with his wife, Lorraine, and their close friends at the World’s Fair in 1964. Throughout his life, he could fix just about anything, especially with glue. He built not only his own home but also his summer camp on a Shaker pond in Canterbury, which created countless hours of joy for his family. He was also fond of large breakfasts, jelly sticks, and Dunkin' Donuts' coffee.
He was passionate about his hobbies, including sailing, building model boats and airplanes, and making puzzles, even at Courville, where he also enjoyed the concerts, games, and outings. He loved watching old reruns, particularly Perry Mason and Gunsmoke . He was honored to have a model airplane featured in the NH Aviation Museum.
Marcel was predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Lorraine M. (Dionne) Pinard on August 27, 2016, and a daughter; Marie Pinard, on May 4, 1974
Family members, all residing in New Hampshire, include his son David Pinard Sr., his daughter-in-law Cheryl Pinard, his grandson David Pinard Jr. and his wife, Robin Pinard, his grandson Shawn Pinard, and his great-grandson Jacob Pinard; his son Michael Pinard, his daughter-in-law Lynda Pinard, his grandson Mark Loranger and his wife, Leah Loranger, his grandson Nicholas Pinard, his grandson Christopher Pinard, and his great-grandchildren Ashley Eaton and Travis Loranger; his daughter Renee Nicholls, his son-in-law, Tim Nicholls, and his granddaughter, Sarah Nicholls. His surviving siblings include his sister Roseanna Harrington and his brother Louis Pinard and his wife, Elaine. There are also several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three sisters: Georgette Pelletier, Rita Forcier, Therese Blais; and four brothers: Fernando Pinard, Andre Pinard, Antoine Pinard, and Paul Pinard.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of Courville and Brookhaven Hospice.
A graveside service will take place on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 11 am in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
