Frances Mary (Dineen) Gagnon, 73, of Franklin died May 25 at her home following a long illness. She was the wife of John P. Gagnon for the past 52 years.
Born in Lawrence, September 4, 1950, the daughter of the late John and Mary (McGrath) Dineen, Frances was raised in Lawrence and had lived in Franklin for the past 44 years.
She was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Frances had been a literacy teacher for the Towns of Franklin and Norwood as well as for Project Learn in Woonsocket. Fran volunteered for several years for FISH of Franklin.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by children, Patrick Gagnon and his wife Jodi Goble of Hubbard, Iowa and Sarah Gagnon and her partner Matthew Gillis of Franklin.
She is also survived by her siblings, Sheila Queenan and her husband Jim of Hudson, New Hampshire and Katherine Gatley and her husband David of Poway, California.
She was the sister of the late John Dineen.
She is also survived by her sister- in- law Gail Dineen of Cranston, Rhode Island.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 5 in St. Mary’s Church at 10:00 a.m.
