Marie S. (Anusewicz) Moniz, age 84, of Norton, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of Manuel G. Moniz, to whom she was happily wed for sixty-five years.
Born in Brockton, MA on September 3, 1939, she was a loving daughter of the late John S. and Adelia E. (Bobulis) Anusewicz.
Marie grew up in Brockton and was a graduate of Saint Patrick’s High School. She made her home in Norton for the past fifty years and was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Norton. Prior to retiring, Mrs. Moniz was employed for over forty years as a Bookkeeper at LeStage Manufacturing in North Attleboro.
Marie’s heart was always centered around her adoring family. She enjoyed cooking for family and loved and looked forward to annual cruises while exploring the beauty of Bermuda. Marie’s favorite time of the year were the holidays and she very-much enjoyed shopping and watching Hallmark movies in the comfort of her home.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her devoted children, Anne M. Moniz, Esq. and her companion Dennis Fuller of Warwick, RI and Joseph S. Moniz of Norton and Miami, FL. She was the dear sister of John J. Anusewicz of Melbourne, FL and is also survived by her much-loved nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, May 27th from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp Street (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton.
Her funeral will begin on Tuesday May 28th at 10:00 A.M. from the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 1 Power Street, Norton. Burial will follow at the Timothy Plain Cemetery in Norton.
