Kathleen A. Rutledge

TEWKSBURY - Kathleen A. (Rouse) Rutledge, age 82, a resident of Tewksbury and Billerica for
many years, died Tuesday, July 18, at Saints memorial Medical center in Lowell, after a brief
illness. She was the wife of James B. Rutledge, who died in 1999.
She was born in New Brunswick, Canada, a daughter of the late Warren and Emily (Coates)
Rouse. She emigrated to the U.S. in her infancy and lived in Tewksbury the greater part of her
life. In her later years, she lived in Florida and Danville, NH, before moving back to Tewksbury
in 1996.
In her earlier years, she worked at the Snack Bar at King’s Department Store in Stadium Plaza,
Tewksbury.
She was remembered by her family as having been an accomplished bowler , and an avid Bingo
enthusiast in her later years. She was also an avid traveler, and following the retirement of her
husband, toured throughout the USA.
She is survived by five children, James W. “Skip” Rutledge of Tewksbury, Judith A. Foley of
Hillsboro, NH, Richard A. Rutledge and his wife Robin (Searles) of Groton, Linda M. Rutledge
and her companion Tony Fells of Chelmsford, Sharon K. Enos-Rutledge and her fiancé Randy
Johnston of Tewksbury; nine grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
She was also sister of the late Muriel Bezis.
Following cremation, a graveside committal service was held Wednesday, July 26, in the
Tewksbury Cemetery. At her request, visiting hours are omitted. Memorial contributions to
