Ina McMillan Davis, 81, of Alapaha passed away Thursday, March 21, 2002, at her residence. Her funeral service was held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2002, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Johnny Hendley officiating. Mrs. Davis was laid to rest at the McMillan Family Cemetery in Alapaha.
Michael Davis, Winston Brogdon, Bobby Metts, Larry Riggins, Buddy Floyd and Mike Floyd served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Arnold Brogdon, Billy Williams, Billy Dorminey, Jack Rowe, Vernon Davis, Wayne Davis, Herbert Gaskins, Gene Davis, Lonnie Metts, Jordan Flanders, Joe Dixon, Riley Harper, Ben Harper and Wendell Patton.
Born February 28, 1921, in Berrien County, Mrs. Davis was the daughter of the late J. E. "Ed" McMillan and Eunie Harper McMillan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Davis, who passed away in 1979; and one sister, Norma McMillan Brogdon. She was a homemaker; and she was of the Baptist faith. After the death of her husband, she operated her cattle farm until 1996, when she was unable to continue.
Mrs. Davis is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Gordon Lindsey of Alapaha; and one niece, Dolores Lyon of Alapaha.
