Obituary



Vincenzia M. (Leccese) Scarfo passed away peacefully at home supported by the love of her family. She was 93. Born and raised in Cambridge she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Nardella) Leccese.

A devoted and proud wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Vinnie was happiest in the company of those she loved. A happy homemaker, Vinnie enjoyed cooking and caring for her family. She enjoyed watching her favorite soap operas and TV shows. She helped care for her grandchildren and even her great–grandchildren and developed a special bond with them. She loved Cambridge but settled in Tewksbury with her daughter in the 1990’s. She will always be remembered as a loving and lovely woman.

The beloved wife of the late Edmund G. Scarfo, Vinnie was a devoted mother to Remo Scarfo and his wife Nancy, Virginia Yeanacopolis and her husband Peter and Cheryl Hanlin and her husband Bill. She was a loving “Nana” to Edmund Scarfo and his wife Nancy, Mark Scarfo and his wife Melyssa, Danielle Magee and her husband Bob and Amanda Fodera and her husband Joe. She was a loving “Nonnie” to Madison, Sophia, Ava, Bret, Cody, Vittoria and Vanessa. Vinnie was pre-deceased by her dear brothers and their wives, Gus Leccese and his wife Rita and Phil Leccese and his wife Louise.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Sunday, May 19 from 4 - 8 PM and again on Monday morning at 10:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:30 AM in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford. Services will conclude with burial at Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.


In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Vincenzia for the intention of patient care to West River Care, 57 Wells Ave., Newton, MA 02459.
