Walter T. Williams, 79, formerly of Saugus, MA died Monday, July 17, 2006 in Greenbriar Terrace Healthcare Center in Nashua, NH. He was born in Everett, MA on January 2, 1927, a son of the late Walter Nils and Isabelle (Fenech) Williams. Raised in Winthrop, MA, he served in the Army at the end of World War II and in the occupational force in Germany following the war. He married the former Estelle F. Gray in 1952 and resided in Saugus, MA for many years. Mr. Williams was employed in the electronics field and later as a custodian for the Saugus school system. He and his wife moved to N.H. in 1998 to be near a daughter and grandchildren.
Family members include his wife Estelle (Gray) Williams of Nashua, two daughters, Diane Abruzese of Londonderry and Ruth Lewis of Prince Frederick, MD, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is further survived by his cousins, Sonja Gilman of North Woodstock, NH and Carl Halvorsen of Winthrop, MA.
A funeral service was held on Friday, July 21 at 10 AM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A visitation was held at the funeral home from 9:30 AM to 10 AM prior to the service. Burial followed in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody, MA at noon. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
