Dartmouth – Doris J. “Dot” (Leduc) Marceau, 75, of Anderson Way, Dartmouth formerly of Lakeside Ave., Dartmouth for 49 years died Monday at home surrounded by her family after a brief illness. She was the wife of 52 years to Normand O. Marceau.
Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Philias and Yvonne (Blanchette) Leduc, she had resided in Dartmouth for over 50 years. She was a sewing machine operator in various mills in Fall River and also worked at HarLee in Fall River, Stella Ann in Fall River and retired from Ann & Hope in Dartmouth. Mrs. Marceau was a Communicant of St. George Church, Westport where she was very active in church functions, she was a member of the St. George Women’s Guild Westport and Dartmouth and received the Woman of the Year Award in 2002. She enjoyed gardening and reading.
Including her husband, she is survived by 4 daughters: Janice A. Levesque and her husband Eddie of Fall River, Diane R. Marceau and her fiancé Mike Dumas of New Bedford, Pauline M. Turner and her husband John of New Bedford and Joanne C. Sylvia and her husband Donald of New Bedford; 9 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, July 21, 2006 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Thursday 3 – 7 P.M.
Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
