FRANKLIN—Richard W. Galvin 70, died Monday July 3, 2006 at the Franklin Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center following a long illness. He was the husband of the late Marie A. (Raymond) Galvin.
Born in Boston, December 17, 1935 a son of the late William and Gertrude Galvin, he was raised and educated in Boston, and had lived in Franklin since 1999.
Mr. Galvin retired several years ago from the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, where he had been employed as a bus driver for many years.
He served in the US Air Force from December 1955 until his honorable discharge in December 1959. He attained the rank of Airman second class, and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal.
He was a member of the Franklin Senior Citizens, and the American Association of Retired Persons.
He is survived by 2 sons Richard M. Galvin and Mark Galvin both of Franklin.
A private funeral with military honors will be held Friday at the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Burial is also private.
