OLD ORCHARD BEACH- Shirley Jean Leonhard "Granny", age 75, passed away on May 5, 2024, at Gosnell House in Scarborough Maine after a battle with lung cancer. She was born in Harrisburg Pennsylvania on January 27, 1949, the daughter of the late James O and Flavia M (Chubb) Carson. She graduated from William Penn High School, Harrisburg Pennsylvania, in 1966.
She was a retired employee of Highmark Blue Shield in Camp Hill Pennsylvania.
She most recently worked part time at Living Waters Christian Educare in Buxton.
She married the love of her life, Theodore Penrose Leonhard III on November 9th, 1990.
Granny enjoyed traveling with her family and spending as much time with them as possible.
She was preceded in death by her husband on September 12, 2010
She is survived by her Daughter- Athena M and her husband Noah J Meyers of Buxton, and their children Nathaniel and Timothy - Sister and her husband Nancy and Rob Meyer of Winter Haven Florida and their children; Ed Meyer and family of Carlisle Pennsylvania, Dawn Boltz and family of Delmar Maryland and Kathy Jean Orlousky and her husband of Fort Pierce Florida -Son, Kevin Leonhard and his wife Gabriele of Pine Grove Pennsylvania and their children; Dakota, Alxandria, Pranas and Mykolas - Daughter, Laura Thomas and her husband Chris and family, Jenica ( May) and Cordelia of Lower Paxton Pennsylvania and the many children, friends and family that adored her. There will be two memorials, one in Maine and one in Pennsylvania, dates and locations to be announced.
