Robert Hilton Conner, 82, of Tifton passed away Thursday, January 24, 2002, at his residence. His funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2002, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Elder Charles Tyson officiating. Mr. Conner was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Powell Gaines, Grant York, Michael Bradshaw and Richard Ziegler served as pallbearers.
Born July 22, 1919, in Ocilla, Mr. Conner was the son of the late Russell Conner and Blannie Roberts Conner. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Janice Elaine Conner; and one sister. Before retiring, he was a forklift operator and Triple A Concrete in Tifton; and he was of the Primitive Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He had lived Tift County most of his life.
Mr. Conner is survived by one sister, Lois Maurine Perkins of Tifton; two nieces, Brenda York and Wanda Gaines, both of Tifton; and a special friend, Merle Ziegler of Tifton.
