Jimmy M. Conger, 67, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2002, at his residence. His funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2002, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Ray Hill and the Rev. John Cone officiating. Mr. Conger was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
John Hampton, Jason Day, Michael Merritt, Edwin Revels Jr., Terry Revels and Jack Fallin served as pallbearers.
Born July 10, 1934, in Worth County, Mr. Conger was the son of the late Herbert Conger and Myrtle Potts Conger. He was also preceded in death by two sisters. Before retiring, he was a mechanic at J. P. Stevens and the Georgia Department of Transportation. He had lived in Tift County most of his life.
Mrs. Conger is survived by one son, David Conger of Chula; two daughters, Pam C. Barry and Wanda Conger, both of Tifton; two sisters, Helen Revels of Tifton and Jackie Drake of Louisiana; and two grandsons, Charles Conger and John Hampton
