Betty Braddy Baker, 69, of Omega passed away Thursday, May 9, 2002, at her residence. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2002, at Omega Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Moon officiating. Mrs. Baker was laid to rest at Omega Cemetery.
Mark Lott, Tim Daniel, Don Potash, Ernest Harris, Andy Hornbuckle and Steve Whittington served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were the employees of Tift Regional Medical Center, the deacons of Omega Baptist church and the members of her Sunday School class at Omega Baptist Church.
Born October 15, 1932, in Butts County, Mrs. Baker was the daughter of the late Isaac Thomas Braddy and Ruby Kate Maddox Braddy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Wesley Baker, who passed away in 1981. Before retiring, she was a respiratory technician and Tift General Hospital; and she was a member of Omega Baptist Church.
Mrs. Baker is survived by two sons, Wesley Tommy Baker of Omega and Don Baker of High Springs, Florida; one daughter, Renee Swain of Omega; and six grandchildren and their spouses, Wes and Wendy Baker, Chris and Christy Baker, Jordan Baker, Jacob Baker, Heather Swain and Casey Swain.
