Willie "Frank" Weldon, 76, of Brookfield passed away Monday, November 24, 2003, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2003, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Roger Tucker officiating. Mr. Weldon was laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Weldon's grandsons served as pallbearers.
Born January 27, 1927, in Turner County, Mr. Weldon was the son of the late Willie Nelson Weldon and Lydia Bell Collins Weldon. He was also preceded in death by one sister; one brother; and one son-in-law, Wade Manaugh. Before retiring, he was a mechanic at Kennon Tractor Company in Tifton; and he was a member of a Congregational Church. He was also a veteran of the United States Army and served in Worl War II.
Mr. Weldon is survived by his wife, Inez Stone Weldon of Brookfield; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Faye Weldon of Tifton and James and Martha Weldon and Michael and Glenda Weldon, all of Brookfield; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Diane and Ted Bennett of Saint Augustine, Florida, Shirley Manaugh of Brookfield and Patsy and Dennis Griffin of Sumner; one brother and sister-in-law, Leon and Annie Mae Weldon of Ty Ty; 16 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
