Elder Guy E. Smith, 91, of Tifton passed away Saturday, November 15, 2003, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2003, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Elder Jeff Harris and Elder George Daniel officiating. Elder Smith was laid to rest at 4:00 p.m. at Oakridge Cemetery in Madison, Florida.
Born September 10, 1912, in Madison County, Florida, Elder Smith was the son of the late Casper Dunkin Smith and Jimmie Couey Smith. Before retiring, he served as a Primitive Baptist Minister; and he was a member and the pastor of Fair Haven Primitive Baptist Church.
Elder Smith is survived by his wife, Katherine Chapman Smith of Tifton; one sister, Elizabeth Smith of Tallahassee, Florida; and his nieces and nephews, Aubrey Smith of Tampa, Florida, Gustine Simmons of Madison, Florida, Mary Alice Castleberry of Musella and William Gober and Ann Sherrell, both of Clewiston, Florida.
