Clara Rozean Cooper Lovett Summerall, 88, of Nashville passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at Berrien Nursing Center in Nashville. Her funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2004, at Tift Avenue Church of God with the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley officiating. Mrs. Summerall was laid to rest at Salem Memorial Gardens in Tifton.
Ronnie Tucker, Robbie Tucker, Ricky Layton, Chris Cooper, Randy Cooper and Greg Cooper served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Mrs. Summerall's grandchildren.
born July 3, 1916, in Polk County, Tennessee, Mrs. Summerall was the daughter of the late Ira Cooper and Eda Mae West Cooper. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Brown Lovett; her second husband, W. C. Summerall; four sons; and three brothers. Before retiring, she was a textile worker at Nashville Mills; and she was a longtime member of Tift Avenue Church of God.
Mrs. Summerall is survived by two sons, Wendell Lovett and Earl Lovett, both of Jacksonville, Florida; two daughters, Debra Joe Merritt of Tifton and Sheila Rice of Ray City; four sisters, Dovie Pritchard and Betty Johnson, both of Tifton, Christine Ross of Valdosta and Virginia Layton of Lake City, Florida; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren.
