Gerald Clifford Stephens, 92, of Omega passed away Thursday, May 8, 2003, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2003, at Antioch Baptist Church in Omega with the Rev. Preston Tylor, the Rev. Danny Smith and the Rev. Charles Daniell officiating. Mr. Stephens was laid to rest at Omega Cemetery.
Mr. Stephens' grandsons served as pallbearers.
Born November 1, 1910, in the Tifton area, Mr. Stephens was the son of the late William Thomas Stephens and Della Dorminey Stephens. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Alens Mae Cannady Stephens; and his second wife, Evelyn Clark Donald Stephens. He was a retired farmer; and he was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Omega, where he served as a deacon. He was also a member of the Masons.
Mr. Stephens is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Earl C. and Sherry Stephens and Bill and Janice Stephens, all of Omega; two daughters and sons-in-law, Geralene and Titus Brinson and Jean and Charles Daniell, all of Albany; one brother, Jimmy Stephens of Tifton; two sisters, Mae Morgan of Moultrie and Geneva Hayman of Albany; eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
