Glynn Austin Smith, 77, of Chula passed away Thursday, July 31, 2003, at his residence. His funeral service was held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 3, 2003, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Kirk Loyless officiating. Mr. Smith was laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens with Masonic rites.
Mr. Smith's grandsons and nephews served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were the Masons; members of the Eastern Star; and George Wright.
Born March 26, 1926, in Tift County, Mr. Smith was the son of the late Luther Smith and Edna Todd Smith. Before retiring, he was a tool designer; and he was a member of Irwinville United Methodist Church. He was also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served in the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Sybil Busbin Smith of Chula; three sons, Tommy Busbin of LaGrange and Don Busbin and Ricky Busbin, both of Waterloo; one daughter, Sandra Mixon of Waterloo; two sisters, Lydia Bruce of Tifton and Joyce Bamsch of Plano, Texas; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
