Mary Jane Sears

Mary Jane (Roof) Sears, 79 of Anderson died at Community North Heart and Vascular Hospital in Indianapolis after a brief illness.
She was born March 14, 1945 in Anderson the daughter of Robert and Gretchen (Shama) Roof. She retired from North Anderson Elementary as the cafeteria manager in 2004. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed NASCAR, cross stitching, baking and crafts.
Survivors include her husband, George Sears of Anderson whom she married February 7, 1964 in Anderson; children, Janette (Ronald) Patrick Jennifer (Daniel) McMahan and George (Rebecca) Sears; seven grandchildren, Danielle, Zachary, Ashlynn, Amber, Katie, Noah and Ally; brother, Jim (Judy) Roof; sister, Vee (Henry) Junkersfeld; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson, George Kiran Sears.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Eddie Purciful officiating.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 12 noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to American Heart Association.
