Obituary

Teresa (Locke) MacDougall, a longtime resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Friday, April 19, 2024, at her home in Charlestown. She was 90 years of age.

Teresa was born in Boston on September 8, 1933, a daughter of the late Ross Locke and Louise (Kennedy) Locke. She grew up in Belmont where she was educated throughout the Belmont Public School system and graduated from Belmont High School. Teresa worked for the City of Boston, Boston Housing Authority in Charlestown for over 25 years and retired as a manager. She was always looking out for the people of Charlestown and their needs at the housing development, and she helped many fellow townies in her days as the manager. Teresa also worked at CVS in Charlestown for 7 years and again was always there to help out the people of Charlestown. During her quiet time of not working and taking care of her family, she enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting and watching the Boston Bruins which she was an avid fan. Family was so very paramount in Teresa's life, and she enjoyed all the good times with her children and especially looked forward to the quality moments she shared with each one of her grandchildren and their families. Teresa also enjoyed the many years spent with her beloved dog McKenzie.

Teresa is the beloved wife of the late George E. MacDougall. She is the devoted mother of Kathleen Carroll, William "Billy" MacDougall and his wife Joan, George MacDougall and his wife Amy, Deborah MacDougall, Linda MacDougall, Maureen Burke and her husband Steve and Denise MacDougall. She is the loving Nana to Kerry Aderhold and her husband James, Boston Firefighter Tommy Carroll and his wife Deanna, James "Macca" MacDougall, Kierra MacDougall, Michael Shackford and his wife Jaz, Stephen Burke, Ian Burke and his wife Amanda, Taylor Bourassa and her husband Nathan, Brittany Murphy, Maureen Carroll and her great-grandchildren Devon, Brittany, Katie, Thomas, Ivy, Xavier, Soren, Emilia, Brody, Madeline and her great-great-grandchildren Jax and Gentry. She is the dear friend of Lori Barrett and Kelly Gamby. She is the beloved sister of Robert Locke and the late Mary Messina and Lorraine Patton. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Teresa's Funeral on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Her burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Her visiting hours will be on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, from 4 to 7 P.M. in the funeral home.
