William Harllee Roberts, 69, of Tifton passed away Monday, August 25, 2003, at his residence. His funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2003, at North Ridge Avenue Church of Christ in Tifton with the Rev. John Voss officiating. Mr. Roberts was laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Roberts' grandsons served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Conway. Mickey Lewis, Lee Rivers, Bob Patrick, Terry Story, Harold chambers, Ben Mullinix, Ron Brown, Bill Wiseman, G. W. Stone, Bubby Fletcher and Wayne Stone.
Born August 22, 1934, in Gilcrest County, Florida, Mr. Roberts was the son of the late Daniel Nathan Roberts and Mattie Elizabeth Harllee Roberts. He was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister. He was a cattle buyer; and he was a member of North Ridge Avenue Church of Christ in Tifton. He was also a veteran of the United States Navy and served during the Korean War.
Mr. Roberts is survived by his wife, Betty Collum Roberts of Tifton; three sons, Mickey Roberts and Mike Roberts, both of Tifton and Rickey Roberts of Pelham; one daughter, Vickie Roberts Fuhrman of Tifton; one brother, Jim Roberts of Florida; four sisters, Eleanor Sapp, Kathryn Campbell and Glenda Moore, all of Arkansas and Sandra Lloyd of Florida; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
