Inez Fowler Holton, 80, of Tifton passed away Friday, September 19, 2003, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service was held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday. September 20, 2003, at Tift Avenue Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Terrell Roberts and the Rev. DeWayne Franks officiating. Mrs. Holton was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Mrs. Holton's grandsons and nephews served as pallbearers.
Born April 18, 1923, in Stevens, Mrs. Holton was the daughter of the late Lee Fowler and Francis Callie Segars Fowler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Emmitt W. Holton, who passed away in 1980; a grandson; and six brothers. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of Tift Avenue Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Holton is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Sandra Holton of Tifton; three daughter and sons-in-law, Betty Jo and Gordon Burgess and Darrie and Wayne Harnage, all of Tifton and Barbara and Larry Gunn of Omega; one brother, Marlow Fowler of Douglasville; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and many other who called her "Granny".
