Jessie Pauline Sumner Howell, 95, of Tifton passed away Sunday. January 5, 2003, at Beverly Health Care in Tifton. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2003, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Eddie Allen officiating. Mrs. Howell was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Mrs. Howell's grandsons served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were the deacons of Eldorado Baptist Church.
Born February 7, 1907, in Colquitt County, Mrs. Howell was the daughter of the late W. A. Sumner and Mattie Lindsey Sumner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Ira Howell; one daughter, Rhudene Hayes; one brother; and three sisters. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of Eldorado Baptist Church.
Mrs. Howell is survived by two daughters, Betty McCall and Sara Gibbs, both of Tifton; six grandchildren, Kay Hawk, Van Belflower, Phillip Belflower, Susan Haman. Mike Gibbs and Chris Gibbs; and ten great-grandchildren.
