Albina J. (Boylan) Murphy, a longtime resident of Needham died on Friday July 14th at Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge. She was 87 years old. Born in Providence, Mrs. Murphy was a graduate of the Newport Hospital School on Nursing and Simmons College. She was a nurse at Newport Hospital, the Newport Public Health Department and the former Glover Memorial Hospital in Needham. Mrs. Murphy was a parishioner of Saint Joseph Church for over 50 years and a member of the Needham Senior Center. The beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Murphy, she leaves her children Timothy B. Murphy and his wife Rosemarie Sullivan of Fairfield CT, Barbara Murphy of Medford, Thomas J. Murphy and his wife Paula of Marlboro and Abby Murphy of Needham. She was the sister of Mary E. Cooney of Newport RI and the grandmother of Elizabeth J. Murphy of Fairfield Ct, Gary Oram of Waltham and Heather Pellerin of Fitchburg. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Tuesday July 18 at 8:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church at 9:00 AM.. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours on Monday from 4-7 PM. Interment at St. Columba’s Cemetery in Middletown RI. Following the interment a reception will be be held at the LaForge Casino Restaurant in Newport.
