Hazel Oliver Hill, 93, of Tifton passed away Sunday, February 16, 2003, at Sylvester Health Care in Sylvester. His funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2003, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. J. T. Tyson and the Rev. Edward Mimbs officiating. Mr. Hill was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Mark Hill, Chuck Hill, Russ Hill, Steve Branch, Edwin Willis and Joey Redshaw served as pallbearers.
Born September 25, 1909, in Randolph County, Alabama, Mr. Hill was the son of the late Charles W. Hill and Grace Chaffin Hill. He was also preceded in death by six brothers. Before retiring, he was the owner and operator of Hill's Home Supply, which was a cabinet shop. He was a member of Brookfield Baptist Church where he served as an active deacon; and he was a Mason.
Mr. Hill is survived by his wife of 72 years, Addie Lee Hill of Tifton; one son, Charlie Hill of Tifton; one brother, George Owen Hill of Dunedin, Florida; four sisters, Ruth Ciraldo of Atlanta, Rebecca Stone of Fitzgerald, Marily Short of Ocilla and Myra Huggins of Eastman; two grandchildren and their spouses, Chuck and Susan Hill of Tifton and Mark and Tanya Hill of Bentonville, Arkansas; two great-grandchildren, Brandi Bostick and Dustin Hill; and his nieces and nephews, Clarence Willis, Elizabeth Barrett, Jean Barrett and Lamar Willis.
