Louise Bishop Hobbs, 90, of Tifton passed away Saturday, September 6, 2003, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 8, 2003, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Tony Register and the Rev. Mike Hobbs officiating. Mrs. Hobbs was laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens.
Dudley Grimes, Philip Grimes, Greg Hobbs, Jeff Hobbs, Bill Hobbs and Andrew Grimes served as pallbearers.
Born December 4, 1912, in Farmington, Mrs. Hobbs was the daughter of the late W. W. Bishop, Sr. and Bezier Havilah Whitlow Bishop. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alonzo Hobbs, who passed away in 1982; one daughter-in-law, Doretha "Dee" Hobbs' one grandson, Eddie Hobbs; four sisters, Mae young, Tommie Bell, Lois Davis and Lanier Smart; and two brothers, W. W. Bishop, Jr. and J. W. Bishop. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of New River Baptist Church in Tifton. She had lived in Tifton for 80 years.
Mrs. Hobbs is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jerry Hobbs and Wayne and Anita Hobbs, all of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Wynelle and Bob Edwards of Tifton; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Dudley Grimes, Philip and Jane Grimes, Melanie Grimes, Bill Hobbs, Jeff Hobbs, Greg Hobbs and Jarrett Hobbs; four great-grandchildren and their spouses, Jeremy Hobbs, Amanda and Gator Walker, Brandi Grimes and Andrew Grimes; and two great-great grandchildren, Taylor Walker and Brady Walker.
