Andrew Jackson "A. J." Hall, 68, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2003, at his residence. His funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2003, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Eddie Allen and the Rev. Mark Holloway officiating. Mrs. Hall was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
J. H. White, Carl Willis, Sonny Woodall, Nat McCalvin, Larry Hornbuckle, Larry lang, Doug Bowen and Wayne Matthews served as pallbearers.
Born November 30, 1934, in Tift County, Mr. Hall was the son of the late Andrew Jackson Hall, Sr. and Aleen Wilson Hall Clark. He had worked for Burlen Corporation for 32 years and at B & C Grocery for 15 years. He was a member and former president of the Tifton Jaycees; and he was a dedicated Tift County Blue Devil Booster. He was of the Baptist faith; and he had lived in Tifton his entire life.
Mr. Hall is survived by his wife, who he dated and eventually married for 52 years, Doris Blalock Hall of Tifton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and H. C. Spivey and Donna and Billy Walker, all of Tifton; one sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Douglas Roberts of Abbeville; four grandchildren, Ches Spivey, Audrey Apivey, Laura Walker and Lisa Jo Walker; and one great-granddaughter, Amber Richter.
