Obituary

DORGAN, William T. Longtime resident of Needham, originally of Dorchester, passed away on March 31, 2024. Beloved husband of Marilyn E. (Trudel) Dorgan. Devoted father of Susan Dorgan of Milford, Thomas Dorgan and his wife Emily of Huntersville, NC., and Pamela Webber and her husband Jim of Millis.

Loving grandfather of Michael, William, and Bridget Dorgan, Julia Benjamin, and Ryan Webber. Brother of the late Robert Dorgan.

Bill Dorgan was above all a devoted family man. He was a beloved husband to his wife of 57 years, and he was completely devoted to his children. He was also a kind and loving influence on his grandchildren. He led a life of respect and kindness, showing everyone around him the value of hard work and the blessings of contentedness. He was an avid reader often found sitting in his favorite chair reading a novel from one of his most-loved authors. His family likes to picture him sitting on a peaceful screened porch listening to an early summer Red Sox game with a cold beer on the table next to him. He will be greatly missed, and may he rest in peace.

A visitation will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home 1305 Highland Ave. Needham on Monday, April 8th from 9:30-10:30am, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, Needham at 11am. Relatives & friends kindly invited. Interment Walnut Hill Cemetery, Brookline. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in William’s memory to the American Heart Association Heart.org.
