Obituary

CHICOPEE ~ Jason Jude Dupre, 49, of the Chicopee Falls section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. He passed into Eternal Life at his home surrounded by all of the memories that he loved and cherished. He was born in Holyoke on May 15, 1974, a beloved son of the late J. Oscar Dupre and Theresa B. (Boisvert) Chagnon Dupre. He was raised in the Aldenville section of Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School, and was a lifelong resident of the city. He was employed for many years at Valet Park of America. He was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. In his younger years he played the piano, loved listening to music, playing cards and games, enjoyed collectibles and was a member of the Chicopee Fife and Drum Corps. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He leaves his seven loving and devoted siblings, Olivia A. Chagnon Kubetin of Chicopee, Roland R. Chagnon, Jr. and his wife, Pamela, of Granby, Joyce M. Cote and her partner, Jay Schmidt, of Southbridge, Janice M. Saporito and her husband, William, of Granby, Michael J. Chagnon of Chicopee, Theodore L. Chagnon and his wife, Angela, of Granby, and Therese M. Labrecque of Chicopee; and his many dear nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, cousins, friends and extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his two dear brothers in law, Thaddeus Kubetin and James Cote; and his dear sister in law, Charlene Chagnon. His Funeral will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His Burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. before Mass. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His family requests that memorial donations be made in his memory to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
