Surrounded by the love of his family and friends, Jack Rowe, 72, of Cumming, was called home by our Lord on July 14, 2006. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 17, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Burial will follow in McMillan Cemetery in Berrien County. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 16, 2006, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Rowe was born on July 9, 1934, in Alapaha to the late Buena Vista Purvis and Julian Rowe. He graduated from Abraham Baldwin College, followed by his many memorable journeys as a marine. He served his country as a captain and a fighter pilot. He continued his life in the reserves and finished his education at the University of Georgia with a B.S. in landscape architecture. He went on to many successful years at the Heery and Heery Firm before starting his private practice, Jack Rowe Landscape Architecture and moved to Cumming, where he loved his view of Lake Lanier and sitting on his front porch. He will always be remembered for his love of his Georgia Bulldogs and his honesty. He is survived by his loving daughters, Kimberly Aldridge of Blairsville, Shari Tyree of Carrollton, Susan Evans of Boca Raton, Florida, Jennifer Hall of Newnan, Erin Eggerton of Duluth, 11 grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
