Lillian Jeanette McClellan, 64, of Tifton, died Thursday, July 13, 2006, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 17, 2006, at 4:00 p.m. at New Covenant Church with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 16, 2006, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Ms. McClellan was born on December 12, 1941 in Langdale, Alabama and was the daughter of the late Thomas P. Powell and Helen O'Neal Powell of Tifton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. William A. McClellan, III; one daughter, Katherine L. "Kitty" Howell; and one sister, Linda M. Holmes. She was a homemaker and a faithful minister's wife and active in the South Georgia and Coastal Emmaus communities. She was a gifted, Spirit-led Bible teacher and intercessory prayer partner. Jeanette was a lover of gardens, singing, her grandchildren and the Lord Jesus Christ. She was a member of New Covenant Church.
In addition to her mother, Ms. McClellan is survived by three sons, John G. McClellan of Warner Robins, William A. "Billy" McClellan, IV of Wyoming, and Matthew T. McClellan of Thomasville; one daughter, Mary Helen McClellan of Tifton; one borther, Thomas M. Powell of Pensacola, Florida; and nine grandchildren.
