Michael Carl Davis, 72, of Wray, Georgia, died Monday, April 1, 2024, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.
Memorial services will be held 1 PM, Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the Fitzgerald Municipal Airport where Adon Clark will take Mike on his final flight.
Mr. Davis was born December 25, 1951, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Edward C. and Willie Pearl Davis. He was a retired Educator with the Irwin County School system, where he loved all his students. He had a passion for all things in aviation, and also held a pilot’s license. He loved to also make rockets, and coached the High-Altitude Rocket Team for the Irwin County High School. His greatest joy was the kids he taught, and all his friends.
He is survived by his daughters: Erika Dawn Piper, and Jennifer Piper Testerman; three grandchildren; a sister: Cindy Withers & Scott; a nephew: Jason Withers & Emma. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Joe Davis, and a sister Susan Green.
