Wilma Gamble Goff 83, of Valdosta, formerly of Tifton, passed away Thursday. June 26, 2003, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. Her funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2003, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Dr. W. Ches Smith, III officiating. Mrs. Goff was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetry.
Born January 3, 1920, in Parrott, Mrs. Goff was the daughter of the late Dave Gamble and Ellie Butler Gamble. She was also preceded in death by her husband, U. Vinson Goff; one brother; and two sisters. She worked as the Clerk of the Tift County Commission for 25 years; and she worked at the Georgia Department of Labor in Tifton until her retirement. She was a member of Tifton's First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Goff is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Ellie and Lex Bishop of Baltimore, Maryland and Marolyn and Jim Bearden of Valdosta; four grandchildren, Brook Bearden, Ashley Bearden Fielding, Megan Bishop and Melissa Bishop; and one great-granddaughter, Abbie Kate Bearden.
