Obituary

Janie Hobby Faircloth, 91, of Tifton passed away Monday, May 19, 2003, at Bradley Place Assisted Living in Tifton. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2003, at Fourth Street Baptist Church in Tifton with the Rev. Ken Conner and the Rev. Chuck Yzenski officiating. Mrs. Faircloth was laid to rest at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Tifton.

Mrs. Faircloth's friends served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were the Rev. Curtis Mixon and the staff and residents of Bradley Place Assisted Living in Tifton.

Born April 24, 1912, in Tift County, Mrs. Faircloth was the daughter of the late Jessie Silas Hobby and Harriett Withers Hobby. She was also preceded in death by one son, John C. Faircloth; two grandsons, Scott Faircloth and Mike Faircloth; and three sisters. Before retiring, she was a spinner at Avondale Mills in Tifton; and she was a member of Fourth Street Baptist Church in Tifton. She was a devoted mother; and she had lived in Tift County her entire life.

Mrs. Faircloth is survived by three sons, Delmar Faircloth of Bainbridge, Ed Faircloth of Palm Coast, Florida and Frank Faircloth of Putney; one daughter, Nancy Courtoy of Tifton; one sister, Helen Hester of Tallahassee, Florida; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
