Lillian Willis Danforth, 94, of Ashburn, formerly of Tifton, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2003, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A memorial service was held for Mrs. Danforth at 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 10, 2003, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Melvin Owen officiating. A private graveside funeral service was held for Mrs. Danforth at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where she was laid to rest.
Born September 1, 1909, in Tift County, Mrs. Danforth was the daughter of the late Ed F. Willis, Sr. and Kathleen O'Quinn Willis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Clarence Danforth; one daughter, Kathleen Dorminey; six brothers, Elias Willis, Eddie Willis, Ralph, Pat Will Willis, Carl Willis and J. E. Willis; and one sister, Charity Willis. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses. She was a lifelong resident of Tift County.
Mrs. Danforth is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Ann and Harold F. Bloodworth and Edna G. and Lloyd LeBlanc, all of Tifton; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and her caregiver, Helen Bosely of Ashburn.
