Ruth Harrell Crum, 97, of Tifton passed away Thursday, March 6, 2003, at Beverly Health Care in Tifton. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2003, at Tifton's First Presbyterian Church with Reginald Chung officiating. Mrs. Crumm was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Kelly Collins, Ray Collins, Jay Collins, W. A. Harrison, Tom Cramer and James Evans served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Norman Glaze and Dick Chalfant.
Born January 6, 1906, in Quitman (Brooks County), Mrs. Crumm was the daughter of the late Walter Jackson Harrell and Ada Irene Burke Harrell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James H. Crumm, who she married in 1935 and who passed away in 1973. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of Tifton's First Presbyterian Church for 55 years, where she was a member of the Mattie Corry Sunday School Class and the Eliza Britt Circle.
Mrs. Crumm is survived by one daughter, Ruthie Crumm Collins of Tifton; four grandchildren and their spouses, Lee and Julie Collins of Tallahassee, Florida, and Jay Collins, Kelley and Charlene Collins and Christy Collins, all of Tifton; three great-grandchildren, Brooke Collins, Hannah Collins and Sean Collins; and several nieces and nephews.
