Harvey Clifford Brown, 88, of Tifton passed away Thursday, October 23, 2003, at Beverly Health Care in Tifton. A graveside funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 25, 2003, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest. The Rev. Dr. Wayne Roe and Wayne Ellis officiated.
Frankie Cottle, Gene Malcom, Eric Collins, David Collins, Joe Sheffield and Greg Yawn served as pallbearers.
Born November 23, 1914, in Tift County, Mr. Brown was the son of the late Zachary Taylor Brown and Della Harvey Brown. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Reideth Mobley Brown, who passed away April 19, 2002. Before retiring, he worked as a grocer and a nurseryman; and he was a member of Tifton's First Baptist Church.
Mr. Brown is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law Jackie and Paul Spradley and Beth and Donnie Collins, all of Tifton; four grandchildren, Susan Sheffield and Shannon Yawn, both of Tifton, David Collins of Atlanta and Eric Collins of Blairsville; five great-grandchildren, Joe William Sheffield, Samuel Sheffield and Elizabeth Yawn, all of Tifton and Chandler Collins and Ansley Collins, both of Blairsville; his nieces and nephews, Marianna Willis Cottle of Tifton, Jane Mobley Lowe of Atlanta, Jerry Goldwire and Ronnie Goldwire, both of Texas, George Mobley, III of Ohio and Gene Malcolm of Cobb; and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
