James Ollie Blanchett, 90, of Brookfield passed away Saturday, January 4, 2003, at his residence. His funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2003, at Brookfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Edward Mimbs officiating. Mr. Blanchett was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Joel Blanchett, Jamie Blanchett, Greg Blanchett, Duwayne Padgett, Chad Blanchett and Jay Blanchett served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were the members of the Men's Senior Sunday School Class at Brookfield Baptist Church.
Born May 21, 1912, in Grady County, Mr. Blanchett was the son of the late Harmon Blanchett and Auther Burnum Blanchett. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jesse Blanchett and Elbie Blanchett. Before retiring, he was a milk inspector for the Florida Dairy Association; and he was a member of Brookfield Baptist Church.
Mr. Blanchett is survived by his wife, Alma Naomi Stone Blanchett of Brookfield; one son, Wayne Blanchett; and two grandchildren, Sherrie Blanchett of Ocilla and Wayne Reese Blanchett of Aberdeen, North Carolina.
