Obituary

William E. Baldree, Jr., 76, of Tifton passed away Sunday, February 23, 2003, at his daughter's residence in Ashburn. His funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2003, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Chuck Yzenski officiating. Mr. Baldree was laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens.

Mike Delk, Joel Delk, Dale Delk, John Delk, Justin Baldree, Loren Smith Jr., Lee Goddard and Julius Luke served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Mitch Smith, Wayne Robbins, Henry Bostick, Alfred Johnson, Ashley Johnson and Joe Kearce.

Born December 28, 1926, in Berrien County, Mr. Baldree was the son of the late William Baldree, Sr. and Idaline Eunice Baldree. Before retiring, he was the interstate foreman with the Georgia Department of Transportation; and he was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II; and he was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Mr. Baldree is survived by his wife, Imogene Delk Baldree of Tifton; one son, Steven Earl Baldree of Tifton; one daughter, Wanda Roberts of Ashburn, one brother, Thomas Baldree of Valdosta; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
