Lula Edith Barfield Burdette, 83, of Ty Ty (Worth County) passed away Sunday, September 7, 2003, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service was held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2003, the First Baptist Church of Ty Ty with the Rev. Danny Jones and the Rev. Eldridge Beasley officiating. Mrs. Burdette was laid to rest at the First Baptist Church of Ty Ty Cemetery.
Jack Handley, Ricky Burdette, Craig Burdette, Keith Beasley, Greg Barfield, Alan Broome, Chris Burdette, Josh Jones and Michael Barfield served as pallbearers.
Born October 19, 1919, in Worth County, Mrs. Burdette was the daughter of the late Jasper Barfield and Ida Kendall Barfield. She was also preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ty Ty. She was a lifetime resident of Worth County.
Mrs. Burdette is survived by her husband, Grady A. Burdette of Ty Ty (Worth County); one son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Diane Burdette of Ty Ty; three daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Winfred Jones of Chula, Linda and Roy Jones of Omega and Jean and H. D. Van Buskirk of Richmond Hill; one brother, Raymond Barfield of Albany; one sister, Juanita Copeland of Sebring, Florida; seven grandchildren, Carrie Burdette, Jim Jones, Josh Jones, Bryant Van Buskirk, Allison Jones, Beth Jones, and Chris Burdette; and two great-grandchildren.
