Ellsaberry Kent Walker Brightwell, 85, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2003, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 10, 2003, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Dr. Wayne Roe officiating. Ms. Brightwell was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Grady Thompson, Wright Crosby, Eddie Seagle, Tommy Bargeron, Leon Douglas and Kevin Allen served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were the Ladies Sunday School Class of Tifton's First Baptist Church and the member of the Monday Bridge Buddies.
Born April 13, 1917, in Tift County, Ms. Brightwell was the daughter of the late Joe Kent, Sr. and Elsberry Dana White Kent. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, A. H. Walker, Jr.; and one brother, Joseph Kent, Jr. Before retiring, she was a bookkeeper for Walker Heating and Plumbing in Tifton; and she was a member of Tifton's First Baptist Church.
Ms. Brightwell is survived by two sons, Larry Walker of Columbus and Dana Walker of Tallahassee, Florida; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Bobby Payne of Tifton; one sister, Doris Kent Blanton of Tifton; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
