Willard Jerome Bracewell, 83, of Tifton passed away Saturday, February 15, 2003, at his residence. His funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2003, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Larry Layfield officiating. Mr. Bracewell was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Brian Bracewell, Justin Bracewell, Jake Dukes, Chad Bracewell, Terry Reis, David Hampton, Winfry Shields, Art Andrews and Dennis Wilson served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Jackie Bracewell and Michael Bracewell.
Born December 28, 1919, in Wheeler County, Mr. Bracewell was the son of the late William Franklin Bracewell and Elizabeth Miller Bracewell. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Earl Bracewell; and two sisters, Hazel Gillis and Grace Varnadoe. Before retiring, he was a maintenance supervisor at Tifton Aluminum Company; and he was a member of New River Baptist Church in Tifton.
Mr. Bracewell is survived by his wife, Cora Lee Cox Bracewell of Tifton; three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Jerome and Vicki Bracewell of Tifton, Gary Eugene and Sandra Bracewell of Alpharetta and Tony Jackson and Sue Bracewell of Albany; one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Lee and Whitley Bryant of Ocilla; and eleven grandchildren, Lynn Bracewell Reis, Kay Bracewell Hampton, Jackie Bracewell, Michael Bracewell, Brian Bracewell, Justin Bracewell, Chad Bracewell, Nichole Bracewell shields, Coby Bracewell Andrews, Jake Olden Dukes and Shannon Wilson; and ten great-grandchildren.
