Henry Elbert Wood, 54, of Grovetown, formerly of Tifton, passed away Monday, July 19, 2004, at his residence. A memorial service was held for Mr. Wood at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 23, 2004, at the First Baptist Church of Ty Ty with the Rev. Danny Jones officiating. Mr. Wood was laid to rest at a later date.
Born September 20, 1949, in Tift County, Mr. Wood was the son of Noah Lee Wood and Irene Allen Wood of Sumner. He was a truck driver; and he was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wood is survived by two sons, Elbert Lee Wood and Wayne Conrad Wood, both of Tifton; three daughter, Patricia Lynn Herbia and Karen Michelle Cooper, both of Enigma and Cheri Ruth Ward of Clinton, Michigan; two brothers, Emory Andrew Wood of Brunswick and Robert Lee Wood of Reidsville; three sisters, Robbie Karen Dodd of Alapaha, Angela Harriet Yawn of Tifton and Bennie Elenora Perry of Norman Park; and nine grandchildren.
